1:00 PM - 2:00 PM    Adult Tennis Lessons - Advanced Beginner -Fall Session- Tuesday Class
BEGINNERThis class is for those who have not played before, or are just getting started. A player will learn all the basics of the game including: strokes, scoring, footwork, and tennis etiquette. Classes will include live ball hitting with other classmates, and personal stroke instruction.ADVANCED BEGINNER Build on skills taught in Beginner Tennis and learn how to comfortably play a game of tennis. The intermediate level will teach you how to rally with more consistent depth and placement. A great workout that will help you fine tune your strokes and improve your match play.

Taekwon-Do is an integrated and complete system for self-defense and personal improvement. *PLEASE NOTE*We are anticipating this class starting on October 8th.  However, because of the current EEE threat, this start date is tentative!  The start date of the class may be pushed back if the temperatures have not gotten cool enough to proceed safely.  Please be flexible.  The end date of the class will also be adjusted accordingly.We will keep you informed prior to the class beginning.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Parks & Rec. Registration begins Monday, September 9!Learn the martial art sport of archery! Participants will use traditional recurve bows and arrows provided to experience this unique all-inclusive Olympic sport that increases focus, hand eye coordination and muscle memory through repetition and practice. Physical benefits include muscle memory, posture alignment and balance and archery is a great individual sport that offers a healthy alternative to traditional team competitive sports. Archers will learn the fundamentals in simplified steps of the shot process in the beginner section and then further develop their skills with more in-depth instruction in session II for intermediates. All equipment is provided and no prior experience necessary! Passionate instructors lead each lesson and coach through group demonstration and individualized attention.** Session II will be held INSIDE the Ashland Recreation Dept.

Developmentally appropriate introductory program for children. Parents work together with their children in a supportive environment to learn basic skills associated with soccer. This program prepares children for the world of organized sports in a fun non-threatening environment without the threat of competition of the fear of getting hurt. - Parents MUST participate with child.  (Please do not bring siblings unless they will be supervised)- Children keep their equipment at the end of the program.  - If weather is inclement, please wear boots and carry your sneakers as to not bring water/snow/salt into the gymnasium.  - Please bring a snack and water to class - please leave snack & water, coats and boots out in the hallway. - ALL CLASSES (regardless of weather) will be held indoors - no cleats allowed. Classes will be held at the Brophy School Gym,  575 Pleasant Street, Framingham   Please enter through door 11 on the back side of the school

This workshop was developed to encourage parents and their children to move and spend time together by teaching them a simple yoga flow that they can do at home. Swim Start & Turn Clinic will be held at Keefe Tech Pool, 750 Winter St., Framingham. The focus of this clinic will be basic forward start technique and basic turns. Pre-requisite: Swimmers MUST be able to perform a basic dive from the side of the pool into deep water prior to registering for clinic.

Registration begins Monday, September 9!Learn the martial art sport of archery! Participants will use traditional recurve bows and arrows provided to experience this unique all-inclusive Olympic sport that increases focus, hand eye coordination and muscle memory through repetition and practice. Physical benefits include muscle memory, posture alignment and balance and archery is a great individual sport that offers a healthy alternative to traditional team competitive sports. Archers will learn the fundamentals in simplified steps of the shot process in the beginner section and then further develop their skills with more in-depth instruction in session II for intermediates. All equipment is provided and no prior experience necessary! Passionate instructors lead each lesson and coach through group demonstration and individualized attention.** Session II will be held INSIDE the Ashland Recreation Dept.

Taekwon-Do is an integrated and complete system for self-defense and personal improvement. The aim of training is to improve the whole person: body, mind and spirit.Baystate Taekwondo is dedicated to helping your child develop confidence through physical activity and acquiring self-defense skills.This is an introductory class to martial arts including instruction and games. Ages 5-12 Loring Arena - 165 Fountain Street 9:00 – 9:50am (Session 1)   OR    10 – 10:50am (Session 2) $55 per child / $60 per non-resident  Skaters will choose either 9:00am OR 10:00am class at registration. Each 50 minute class is structured to include a 10-minute warm-up, 30 minutes of instruction, and 10 minutes to practice.   A class listing will be posted on a tripod at the front of the rink, please check for your child's assignment.   OBJECTIVES:      1. To teach proper, basic skating skills in a fun atmosphere.                               2. Provide personal pleasure, satisfaction and fun in skating.                               3. Provide informal instruction for the recreational skater. YOU WILL NEED: Skates that fit properly no double runners (rentals are available for an additional fee at Loring Arena) All skaters must wear approved helmets ** Bicycle helmets WILL NOT be allowed. **   For more information, please click link under "Additional Forms and Files" below.      (Loring Arena does NOT rent helmets). Name tags will be available near the class assignment listing at the rink, please put your child’s first name on it and wear it weekly. Please dress in layers and wear mittens or gloves. PARENTS ARE REMINDED:  - There will be a class list posted on the tripod at the front of the rink, please check for your child’s name and direct them to the appropriate instructor holding up the letter when the whistle blows after the 10 minute warm-up. - The letter of the class assigned does not necessarily correlate to the child’s level. - No one will be allowed on the ice without skates.  If your child is in need of assistance, please wait at the ice surface entrance for an instructor.   Weather cancellations will be announced by calling 508-532-5962. ** Volunteers make this program work!  Please let us know prior to registration if you would like to volunteer.  Necessary release forms and approval are needed for all volunteers before going on the ice.

This program prepares children for the world of organized sports in a fun non-threatening environment without the threat of competition of the fear of getting hurt. - Parents MUST participate with child.  (Please do not bring siblings unless they will be supervised)- Children keep their equipment at the end of the program.  - If weather is inclement, please wear boots and carry your sneakers as to not bring water/snow/salt into the gymnasium.  - Please bring a snack and water to class - please leave snack & water, coats and boots out in the hallway. - ALL CLASSES (regardless of weather) will be held indoors - no cleats allowed. Ages 5-12 Loring Arena - 165 Fountain Street 9:00 – 9:50am (Session 1)   OR    10 – 10:50am (Session 2) $55 per child / $60 per non-resident  Skaters will choose either 9:00am OR 10:00am class at registration. Each 50 minute class is structured to include a 10-minute warm-up, 30 minutes of instruction, and 10 minutes to practice.   A class listing will be posted on a tripod at the front of the rink, please check for your child's assignment.   OBJECTIVES:      1. To teach proper, basic skating skills in a fun atmosphere.                               2. Provide personal pleasure, satisfaction and fun in skating.                               3. Provide informal instruction for the recreational skater. YOU WILL NEED: Skates that fit properly no double runners (rentals are available for an additional fee at Loring Arena) All skaters must wear approved helmets ** Bicycle helmets WILL NOT be allowed. **   For more information, please click link under "Additional Forms and Files" below.      (Loring Arena does NOT rent helmets). Name tags will be available near the class assignment listing at the rink, please put your child’s first name on it and wear it weekly. Please dress in layers and wear mittens or gloves. PARENTS ARE REMINDED:  - There will be a class list posted on the tripod at the front of the rink, please check for your child’s name and direct them to the appropriate instructor holding up the letter when the whistle blows after the 10 minute warm-up. - The letter of the class assigned does not necessarily correlate to the child’s level. - No one will be allowed on the ice without skates.  If your child is in need of assistance, please wait at the ice surface entrance for an instructor.   Weather cancellations will be announced by calling 508-532-5962. ** Volunteers make this program work!  Please let us know prior to registration if you would like to volunteer.  Necessary release forms and approval are needed for all volunteers before going on the ice.

This program prepares children for the world of organized sports in a fun non-threatening environment without the threat of competition of the fear of getting hurt. - Parents MUST participate with child.  (Please do not bring siblings unless they will be supervised)- Children keep their equipment at the end of the program.  - If weather is inclement, please wear boots and carry your sneakers as to not bring water/snow/salt into the gymnasium.  - Please bring a snack and water to class - please leave snack & water, coats and boots out in the hallway. - ALL CLASSES (regardless of weather) will be held indoors - no cleats allowed. New skills include flip turns, alternating kicks for treading water, tuck and pike surface dives, throwing rescues, and turning a spinal injured victim face-up. LEVEL 7 - ADVANCED SKILLS This course will emphasize whole stroke skills in order to swim more efficiently, with more ease, relaxation, smoothness, and for greater distance. Rescue techniques and introduction to advanced rescue skills will be taught.

** REGISTRATION BEGINS OCTOBER 7th  @ 9:00am **Practices and home swim meets are held at Keefe Tech School located at 750 Winter Street, Framingham.  Focus is on good sportsmanship, improvement, and having fun!  Open to swimmers ages 6-18 years.  All new swimmers to the Swim Team MUST be evaluated.Please find IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS in the "ADDITIONAL FORMS AND FILES" section below.It is your responsibility to PRINT OUT THESE DOCUMENTS WHEN REGISTERING.  The Behavior Policy, initial practice times, team meetings, team apparel sizing, and evaluation information is included!!! (as soon as it is available)PLEASE READ AND DISCUSS THE BEHAVIOR POLICY WITH THE PARTICIPANT - WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND PRINTING THIS POLICY AND SIGNING IT WITH THE PARTICIPANT   (Any questions with this policy may be brought to the attention of the Recreation Department.)
 
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Tennis Lessons Ages 4-18 - High School Lessons-Fall
* PLEASE NOTE - Some Age Categories / Class Names may have changed from what was originally advertised! *PRE RED BALL  &  RED BALL I/IIDesigned for players ages 4 & 5. This is an opportunity for you child to learn the fundamentals of the sport. Lessons will focus on coordination of gross motor skills to accelerate skill development and basic stroke production.ORANGE BALL Designed for players ages 9 & 10. An opportunity for students to sharpen their skills and build confidence as they learn to rally and learn the difference dimensions to their game such as directional control, spin an depth. GREEN BALL This level is designed for students ages 11 & 12 who can cover a full size court comfortably. At this stage, students will continue to refine their technical and tactical fundamentals. YELLOW BALL Lessons are designed for students that are playing at the high school level (ages 13 - 18 yrs). A competitive yet fun environment for all student athletes at the high school level.

Physical benefits include muscle memory, posture alignment and balance and archery is a great individual sport that offers a healthy alternative to traditional team competitive sports. Archers will learn the fundamentals in simplified steps of the shot process in the beginner section and then further develop their skills with more in-depth instruction in session II for intermediates. All equipment is provided and no prior experience necessary! Passionate instructors lead each lesson and coach through group demonstration and individualized attention.** Session II will be held INSIDE the Ashland Recreation Dept.
