Parents work together with their children in a supportive environment to learn basic skills associated with soccer. This program prepares children for the world of organized sports in a fun non-threatening environment without the threat of competition of the fear of getting hurt. - Parents/family member MUST participate with child.  ** We ask that only 1 parent/family member accompany child to class **- Children keep their equipment at the end of the program.  - If weather is inclement, class will be made up at a later date.  - Cleats are welcome, but not necessary - all other equipment will be provided.- Please bring a snack and water to class.  Classes will be held at the Academy Building at Cushing Memorial Park.  Please use the Keefe Tech entrance at 750 Winter Street to enter the park.  Once you turn into the Keefe Tech parking area, take your immediate left hand turn (between 2 stone pillars) and follow the road to the rear of the park.  The Academy Building is the 1st brick building you come to.  We will be using the grass field behind that building.

Behold a special magnetic top levitating and much much more!Classes will be held at the Academy Building at Cushing Memorial Park.  Please use the Keefe Tech entrance at 750 Winter Street to enter the park.  Once you turn into the Keefe Tech parking area, take your immediate left hand turn (between 2 stone pillars) and follow the road to the rear of the park.  The Academy Building is the 1st brick building you come to.  We will be using the grass field behind that building.

PLEASE NOTEYour Parks & Recreation Department takes safety seriously.   While participating in this program, please be assured that all State and Local health and safety measures are being adhered to.  You may be asked a few short questions or have your temperature taken prior to class every day.  Masks must be worn while participating, physical distancing guidelines must be followed, and multiple hygiene breaks will be taken during each class.  If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our department.PLEASE READ THE COVID PARTICIPATION INFORMATION LOCATED IN THE 'ADDITIONAL FORMS & FILES' LINK BELOW____________________ONE-DAY CLINICS - One-day clinics are designed for both Beginner and Intermediate skaters.  This condensed clinic will combine both skillsets into a fun-filled 3-hour clinic.  SUMMER CLINICS - Beginner - designed for beginner skateboarders with little to no experience.  Concentrating on balance, turning, accelerating, stopping, transitions, dropping in, Ollies, and a variety of other skills.  Participants will develop confidence to apply these skills on their own.Intermediate - designed for skateboarders with some experience who are looking to push themselves to the next level.  This class will focus on tricks like flip tricks, grinds, manuals, and riding vert while helping participants develop confidence to apply them on their own.*** Summer Clinics are scheduled Monday - Thursday with Friday to be used as a rain date if needed.Proper safety equipment (helmet, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards) and skateboards are mandatory.  Please make sure your skateboard is similar to the skateboard in the photo.  (+/- 31" x 8", wooden, full size skateboard - appropriate for ages 5+)Participants MUST keep safety equipment on at all times and wear athletic shoes.  Skateboard Programs will be held at the new Skateboard Park at Farm Pond (Dudley Road).Skateboard classes/clinics are co-ed unless otherwise specified.** PLEASE NOTE  ** The Framingham Parks & Recreation Department will require immunization records from ALL PARTICIPANTS one week prior to the start of the program!(Please let us know if we have one on file from a previous Clinic.  A new immunization record will be needed each calendar year.)  Records can be submitted 3 different ways:Mail:Please mail a COPY of your records toFramingham Parks & Recreation Dept.475 Union Ave.Framingham, MA 01702In Person:Please drop off a COPY of your records to our office at Bowditch Athletic Complex between the hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Behold a special magnetic top levitating and much much more!Classes will be held at the Academy Building at Cushing Memorial Park.  Please use the Keefe Tech entrance at 750 Winter Street to enter the park.  Once you turn into the Keefe Tech parking area, take your immediate left hand turn (between 2 stone pillars) and follow the road to the rear of the park.  The Academy Building is the 1st brick building you come to.  We will be using the grass field behind that building.

SWIM LESSON REGISTRATION BEGINS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2021!! Spots are Limited - Register Early!Swim Lessons will run SATURDAYS, November 6 - December 18(no class December 4)Students should be able to swim 4 lengths of the pool (100 yards), without stopping, prior to entering Level 6** THIS IS A COMBINED CLASS - LEVEL 6 & LEVEL 7 LEVEL 6 - SKILL PROFICIENCY The purpose of this course is to develop maximum efficiency and endurance for all strokes. New skills include flip turns, alternating kicks for treading water, tuck and pike surface dives, throwing rescues, and turning a spinal injured victim face-up. LEVEL 7 - ADVANCED SKILLS This course will emphasize whole stroke skills in order to swim more efficiently, with more ease, relaxation, smoothness, and for greater distance. Upon successful completion of this class, students will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.  Certificate is good for 2 years. Please bring swimsuit, towel, notebook, and pencil to each class. Absolutely NO SHOES are allowed on the pool deck. Flip Flops are welcome. Your Parks & Recreation Department takes safety seriously.   While participating in this program, please be assured that all State and Local health and safety measures are being adhered to.  You may be asked a few short questions or have your temperature taken prior to class every day.  Masks must be worn while participating (NOT while in water), physical distancing guidelines must be followed, and multiple hygiene breaks will be taken during each class.  If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our department. Due to current circumstances, flexibility is essential.  This is why we have arranged for this class to be offered in a virtual/on-line setting if it can not be offered in-person.  Class will be held on the same date & time. PLEASE READ THE COVID PARTICIPATION INFORMATION AS WELL AS THE COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR KEEFE; LOCATED IN THE 'ADDITIONAL FORMS & FILES' LINK BELOW  --  ADDITIONAL PROGRAM-SPECIFIC GUIDANCE WILL BE GIVEN PRIOR TO CLASSLIFEGUARDINGThis class is for participants who are training for the first time, or for those whose certifications have expired.  Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness until EMS personnel take over.    Prerequisites:     - Must be 15 years of age to take course (per MA Law - Lifeguards must be 16 years of age to work)     -  Swim 300 yards continuously     - Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs     - complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:            start in the water, swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the start point, exit the water without using a ladder or steps.PLEASE NOTE:  Students who sign a COMMITMENT TO WORK & EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT, prior to the start of class, will be eligible to have the cost of the course refunded.  This agreement would bind the student to working for the Framingham Parks & Recreation Department Beaches over the 2022 Summer.  The commitment will include no less than 36 hours per week for the 8-week beach season.  Once this obligation is successfully completed, the fee for the course will be reimbursed.

Please wear comfortable clothes, and please leave shoes in rack provided at the door. Classes are held at the Taekwondo Baystate Academy 25 School Street, FraminghamPlease note due to Covid-19; Baystate Taekwondo cannot allow any parents in the waiting room. The bathrooms will also be closed. Please make sure your child brings their own water as well. Parents please feel free to stop by Baystate Taekwondo Academy at anytime to purchase a uniform for $45. Uniforms may also be purchased on the first day of classes.
