SPECIAL OLYMPICS - Soccer

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Framingham's own Special Olympics Program, the MetroWest Flyers, will be fielding Soccer Teams this Fall!

The Special Olympics provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

This opportunity will help your athlete build a sense of community, make lifelong friends, and promote healthy activities in a fun, friendly, and competitive environment.

The Special Olympics Massachusetts Fall Soccer Season sees competition on the local level, at Regional Qualifying Tournaments, and culminates in the season-ending Soccer Cup at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 3rd!

The Metro-West Flyers
will be looking to field a youth team (8-15 years old) and an adult team (16+) for our inaugural season.  Special Olympics youth teams compete in a 3 v 3 format while adult teams play 5 v 5.  These formats allow for greater skill development to help athletes of all ability levels learn and develop important skills to enjoy the game!
